Borrego Springs Registration form

We hope you will join us in Borrego Springs October 20 – 23, 2011.  The weather should be pleasant with daytime highs in the low 80s and nighttime lows in the low 60s. We are going to kick off the rally on Thursday evening with complimentary wine tasting provided by the resort followed by our own pizza party. Friday & Saturday will be free days to explore Borrego Springs (www.borregospringschamber.com) or to relax at the resort.  Hiking and off-roading in Anza Borrego Desert State Park are popular daytime activities.  There are several golf courses in the area, including a 9-hole course at the resort, which may or may not be open since October is the month most courses are closed for reseeding.  Rally weekend coincides with Borrego Days, an annual Borrego Springs festival that includes a parade through downtown on Saturday morning followed by music, food, and an arts & crafts fair.  Borrego Springs is a Designated Dark Sky Community which means you can reach out and touch the stars since the night skies are protected from light pollution.   On Friday evening we’ll have an opportunity to star gaze through an 11” telescope at the resort’s Astronomy Park guided by Dennis Mammana, www.dennismammana.com, a well know astronomer and night sky photographer.   Prior to star gazing, we’ll enjoy a slideshow presentation by Dennis Mammana and a catered dinner provided by Kendall’s Cafe.  In the event Family Radio evangelist Harold Camping’s prediction is correct and the world ends on Friday night (his last 5 predictions have been wrong), Saturday evening’s hot hors d’oeuvre sharing and membership meeting will be cancelled!  There are no scheduled activities for Sunday.  Check out time is 11am.
